. .As Gov Abdulrahman Approves N269 Million to Patch Ongoing Tanke Flyover Bridge

Controversies around the poorly constructed Tanke Bridge have taken another twist as Kwara state Governor, Mallam Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq, has just approved two hundred and sixty-nine million naira (N269m) for the patching of the newly constructed Tanke Bridge which has not even been commissioned or opened for public use.

As contained in an internal memo addressed to the Commissioner for Works by the Ministry of Finance, the governor has approved the huge sum of money for the repair of the Tanke Flyover Bridge just as a huge sum of money has been approved for other road patching ongoing across the Ilorin metropolis.

There is an unconfirmed report on social media this week that a new Chinese contractor hired to correct certain misnormals on the bridge has advised the government to demolish the entire structure to avoid future calamity but the government has continuously denied such advice.
