SARAKI AWARDS SCHOLARSHIP TO SON OF LATE STALWART

Former Senate President, Dr Abubakar Bukola Saraki, has visited the family of late Prince Oyedeji Oni Philips (Oni of Kay) where he awarded a full scholarship to one of his children at the University level.

Saraki paid a condolence visit to the family on Friday at his Ilorin residence, the state capital.

In a statement by his Press Officer on Local Matters Abdulganiyu Abdulqadir quoted him as describing the late Prince Oni as a loyal, dedicated, and resourceful figure to the People’s Democratic Party, PDP in Oke-Ero LGA.

He sympathized with his wife, children, and the entire Oni family, assuring them of his support always.

Mr Oni, the elder brother of the deceased, who spoke on behalf of the family appreciated the Saraki political family for their support while he was indisposed and even after his death.

Saraki also visited the Elesie of Esie, Oba Yakubu Agboola Babalola, to commiserate with him over the demise of his daughter, Princess Bashirat Babalola Mohammed, who was a former Chairperson of Irepodun LGA, and a strong member of the PDP family in Kwara.

He condoled with the monarch and the royal family, over the great loss of the princess, whom he said contributed hugely to the political family while she was alive.

The Elesie of Esie appreciated Saraki and his political family for the visit, just as he hailed him for being there for the people at all times.

Also in Ilofa, Saraki visited the family of another strong elder of the PDP in Kwara State, the late Alhaji Olaniyi Yusuf (Honeymoon) in Ilofa, Oke-Ero LGA.

Dr. Saraki who arrived at the family compound in the company of party elders, prayed for the deceased and the family and assured them of his continued support.

Earlier, Saraki joined the Muslim faithful at Ilofa Central Mosque, Oke-Ero LGA, to perform the two rakah Jumah prayer led by the Chief Imam of Ilofa, Alhaji Sulyman Babatunde Imam.

Saraki also visited the Eesa of Omuaran, High Chief Adekunle Abdulrazaq Oyinloye to commiserate with him over the passing of his father at Omuaran, Irelodun LGA.

“We thank God Baba lived a long and fulfilled life,” Saraki said. Prayed for the soul of Pa Oyinloye and the entire Oyinloye family.
